FS Road 751Gravel route from Shope Creek Rd to Coweeta Lab Rd, Otto, Macon County, North Carolina "Hard packed dirt / gravel Park at Coweeta Lab and ride up and back. The climb up starts off fairly easy but gets much steeper after the first mile. The climb is relentless. The road eventually ends and turns into an unrideable trail with lots of deadfall. The downhill return trip is a blast." |

FS Road 388Gravel route from State Rd 1310 to Unnamed Road, Franklin, Macon County, North Carolina "A nice peaceful ride relatively close to Franklin. It is a bit of a workout due to the climbs but the climbs are followed by fun descents. Mostly well packed gravel but watch out for some loose areas when speeding down the downhill sections. A few cars on the first two miles because the popular Rufus Morgan Trail and Falls is here. After the small parking area at the trail head I saw no one for the remainder of the ride out. It's about a 5 ride to the mapped end of the road but there is a gate off the left and the road continues. I rode about another mile on that section but turned around due to lack of time. I will eventually go back to investigate where it leads. That portion is much less traveled and turns to dirt doubletrack. " |
